The month of October is so special to women as it has dedicated days set aside to celebrate and she’d light on womanhood and some its challenges, like Breast cancer, cervical cancer and Day of the girl child.
Pink is world-wide considered a woman’s colour and so I decided to join other women in celebrating this month with this lovely A- line Pink dress.
Women are super strong and special and I believe that not only should days and colours be set aside to celebrate us but also a whole mentality should shift to recognize and appreciate womanhood.
Growing up, I was always told how inferior I was cos I wasn’t a boy, where I come from females are only good enough for the kitchen and marriage, no special care or attention is given once you are a woman.
I saw so many women loose their self worth and respect just cos they gave birth to girls, a wife is only considered a wife when she can bear sons, this took a toll on my personality growing up, I witnessed firsthand what it is to be inferior, this shaped my mentality about life, it made me believe that as a woman all you are to do is get married and please the man no matter what it takes, regardless of your own happiness.
As much as that made me to become a victim of emotional and physical abuse, I found myself and my strength in the midst of all these and I made a decision that I am Special, I am Important and my Happiness matters .
So to every woman out there reading this now am saying to you, stand up and stand strong, you are not inferior, you are not a mistake, you are Special and you owe yourself true happiness, the world will not give it to you on a Platter unless you ask and fight for it.
Let’s raise our heads high in the strength that lies in our bodies and let’s humble ourselves with the deepest of Love that flows from within us.
Women are the greatest gift life has given the world, creation has continued because of us! So on this note I charge you to take care of your body, love it, nurture it, don’t joke with your health, have your breast checked , go for your cervical test and screening, eat right so you feel right, we Matter and as such we must do all we can to remain here in good health.
Our kids, husbands, family, friends and the world needs us, haven’t you noticed that we are the only gender that is naturally gifted to multitask and make it seem so easy? That’s how special we are.
For this look I let the dress do all the talking, with its vibrant colour that speaks volumes, I simply kept my accessories simple, with an A-line dress like this you want to use a belt at the waist to help achieve a curvy and defined waist line and this dress will suit any body type cos by simply adding a belt it gives you the perfect look
For my shoes I kept it simple wearing just nude heels and of cos minimal makeup
Thank you all for reading and see you all in my next post
