So i will be sharing the basic recipe to get this yummy delicious treat up on your dinning table for breakfast to be enjoyed , Crepes are simply put a soft, flat and fold able version of pancakes and boy do they taste great! If you enjoy pancakes then you will definitely enjoy this, they contain less flour and no baking powder.
Breakfast is the most important meal of they day and as such should be very special ,so without talking too much lets get straight into the recipe already, i know you cant wait.
To make sure that your crepes come out perfectly there are a few things that you must note,
A non stick pan is a must fro this recipe, you want your crepes to glide out of your pan and not stick to it
Make sure you have a running batter and not thick or you will end up with pancakes and not crepes
You cant leave your crepes alone while cooking, your utmost attention is needed to make sure they dont burn
If your first crepes is too light and its tearing up ,just add a little more flour , and if its too thick add milk or water.
1 Cup flour
2 Cups milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 Teaspoon nutmeg
3 Table spoon sugar
A pinch of salt
1/4 Cup melted butter
In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients together , create a well in the middle and add in all of your wet ingredients, give this a very good stir to combine all the ingredients together and set aside.
Now place a non-stick pan ( it must be non stick) over low heat and rub with butter or spray with cooking spray if you have, allow that to warm up and gently scoop your crepes mix into the pan and spread to coat all of the pan.
Allow this to cook till you start to see bubbles forming on the edges of your crepes then you know its time to flip.
Flip your crepes and cook the other side till its done, this should take about a minute on each side, transfer onto your plate and then repeat the same process till you are out of crepes batter, you can roll your crepes or fold them up, add slices of fresh fruits topped with whipped cream or simply enjoy it on its own with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
And just as simple as that you have a yummy treat served up for breakfast, you dont have to wait till you are in a hotel to enjoy these, give yourself and your family a treat by making these over the weekend and enjoy some quality time over delicious food.
