Breakfast is my favorite time of the day , you get to hang out with your family and build your bond over delicious meals, and for me i always want to make sure the meals are very delicious, nutritious and easy to make so i dont spend so much time in the kitchen preparing meals that no one will eat in the end. This cinnamon french toast is so delicious and easy plus it carries a ton of nutrients.
French toast is typically bread soaked in a very rich custard made of eggs and full cream milk, then toasted to perfection over low heat, which can be served with fruits, yogurt, caramel syrup or chocolate syrup, basically its a meal you want to savour and enjoy.
Cinnamon french toast takes this basic breakfast to a whole new level with a burst of flavors and aroma, starting from making the custard to toasting the bread, your home is filled with such delicious aroma that makes the food so so inviting.
So for this yummy breakfast i gave it my own twist by switching up most of the basic ingredients like instead of white sugar i used brown sugar, feel free to check out my post on the blog on how to make your own brown sugar at home.
INGREDIENTS
Sliced bread( you can used bread loaf just cut into slices)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup full cream milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract( you can use any flavoring you like but i recommend vanilla)
DIRECTIONS
In a bowl mix together the egg, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla till well incorporated then add in your cinnamon and give it a good mix like you can see below.
Once you have the above ingredients well mixed, drip each bread slice into the mixture making sure its well soaked and coated, then transfer onto a plate, repeat the same till you are out of bread, this mix should soak about 6 slices of bread.
Next heat up a pan on very low heat and add in a little butter, once the butter starts to sizzle add one sliced bread that has been soaked in the milk, egg and cinnamon mixture and cook till its golden brown, flip over to cook the other side as you can see in the picture below.
Repeat this process with all your soaked bread and there you have your delicious Cinnamon french toast, better that store bought or served in restaurants, trust me there is nothing like home made food, and home made cinnamon french toast is your next perfect breakfast.
Serve with any toppings you fancy, for me i served with drizzled chocolate and strawberry ice cream and it was so so delicious, i would love you read your comments in the comments section if you tried out this recipe, see you in my next post Xoxo.
