I love sausage rolls, I mean yummy delicious pastry filled with beef sausages with a glass of orange juice on a hot afternoon yum yum.
Sausage rolls are super yummy , but one issue I have with buying it is that ,most times the pastry isn’t properly made and tasteless , so I resulted to making mine (homemade is always the best).
This recipe is very easy to follow and the end result will fly off the baking sheet as soon as it’s out of the oven.
Make this ahead for an easy lunch box snack for the kids or a perfect snack to entertain your guest over the weekend.

2 cups flour + 1/2 cup more for dusting
1/2 cup milk
125 grms butter
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Beef sausages (blended)
1 teaspoon red pepper (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Pour 2 cups flour and all the dry ingredients together, stir to combine and add in your butter, mix this together with your hands until you get a bread crumbs like texture.
Crack in 1 egg and mix; gradually add the milk in bits till soft dough is formed.
Transfer the dough to a smooth floured surface, sprinkle with some flour and knead till it’s smooth and elastic.
Now mix in your pepper into your blended sausages if you are using pepper , cut you dough into two , take one part and roll out to about 1/2 an inch thick and gently spread your sausages on it like the picture below.
Roll to fold in, till you roll out the entire dough and cut off the edges, cut into mini or medium sizes.
Place on your baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes, and your delicious rolls are readyyyy , yes sound the drums!
