Beef kebabs are basically stewed beef that are placed on a skewer along side lots of veggies , making a very colorful and pleasing food to the eyes as well as the mouth.
I made these recently for Father’s day breakfast for my husband and he could not have enough, i decided i needed to bring you all the recipe, without much delay am going to go straight into the recipe and allow you all to experience these delicious goodness yourself.
Before we go into the recipe i just want to say , i am one person that believes that food has to be appealing to the eyes first before the mouth even gets to taste it, so its important that when you are cooking, you pay attention to the overall outcome of your food and always try to impress. The sauce from this beef is so nice that it pairs really well with rice, pasta, chips and boiled potatoes, it is spicy so if you are into spicy food, this will definitely kick it for you and if you don’t like too much spice you can reduce the heat by adding lots of tomatoes.
Beef cubes( buy beef and cut them up into cubes or small bit sizes)
Tomatoes 3 medium sizes
Chilly peppers 6 medium
Hot bonnet peppers 6 medium sizes
Onions 2 small ones
Salt to taste
Cucumber 1 large one
Red peppers 2 medium ones
Green peppers 2 medium ones
Carrots 2 large ones
Vegetable oil 1 cup
Bamboo sticks 10
LETS MAKE THE BEEF
To prepare this beef kebab you will need to first prep the beef and this is what ensures that you end up with very tasty and juicy beef on your kebab, and to do this you will need to do the following.
Place your wash beef into a sauce pan and season with salt, seasoning cube., onion slices, curry powder , thyme, and some water, cover to boil until the beef is cooked through and soft. Once your beef is cooked through you will proceed to the next step.
Add vegetable oil to a small sauce pan and deep fry the boiled beef until they turn golden brown like you can see in the picture below, this step is to ensure that the sauce we are going to place in sticks to it, once they have browned you will then take them out of the oil and set aside.
LETS MAKE THE SAUCE
Roughly blend tomatoes, chilly and hot peppers with the onion, garlic and ginger together to look like the picture below, and pour this blend into the oil you used in frying your beef, allow this sauce to cook on medium heat until all the water content have almost dried up , then proceed to season with salt and seasoning cubes, taste to make sure it taste right, this sauce is quite spicy so if you don’t like or tolerate that much spice then use more tomatoes than peppers, once this sauce has dried up all the water content , you will now proceed to the next step.
Add all the fried beef into the pepper sauce that you have made and over low heat stir to combine and allow this to cook for at lest 5 minutes this is to make sure that the sauce penetrates every part of your beef and leaves it very tasty and yummy, you can feel free to take one bite now , cos i did at this point , they were just to delicious to resist. After 5 minutes on low heat the beef should be ready to assemble , all you need to do now is tale out the beef from the sauce and set aside, this sauce you can keep and use for your boiled rice, pasta or even chips its so amazing.
LETS MAKE THE KEBAB
Dice up the cucumbers, green peppers, red peppers, carrots and set them aside to assemble to kebab. Now taka a bamboo stick and in no particular order, place the veggies one after the other on the skewer, green pepper, followed by carrots
, then the stewed beef, followed by other veggies, and then more beef, till your stick is full, repeat this process till you are out of beef and veggies.
Serve the kebabs on a bed of lettuce and enjoy with your choice of drink, i will recommend a chilled glass of orange juice to wash it down, this is one recipe you cannot afford to miss, try it out and be sure to leave me your comments in the comments section, also a video of this recipe will be up on my YouTube channel , so be sure to use the YouTube icon on top of this blog to head over to my YouTube channel to watch the video and also don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss my videos.
