Why do men find older women more attractive?

Here are some of the responses I got when I asked this question to both men and women:
- Older women have some special charisma about them, they’re not the giggly and childish type and I think I enjoy real and meaningful conversations with such women better.
- They don’t expect to be sent flowers and gifts all the time. They’re more practical. It’s easier to be with a woman like that.
- Women who are older than me seem more caring towards my needs and instead of me pampering her all the time, I feel good that she pampers me too.
- As a woman, I think younger men find me more attractive because I am more mature and stable, and not likely to be showing my tantrum every now and then.
- Older women are a little easier to talk to in terms of reasoning things out. They give you less of the silent treatment than younger girls tend to do. They’re more willing to lay the cards on the table and get round to settling what’s not right.

A more matured woman these days knows exactly what she wants in life and doesn’t beat around the bushes. I like the frankness rather than having to do lots of guesswork.

I think I’m a better companion to my younger guy than a girl his age would be. I can understand him better and offer practical advise on top of being there to listen and provide comfort.
What are some of your thoughts? Are the above points a good representation of why some men prefer to be in relationships with older women today?

Fair enough, I think we all agree with you on that. Looks count, can’t deny that…it may make us seem shallow, but deep inside we know it matters. Thanks for the honesty!

i believe it depends on the age of the men as well. if older women is preferred, u wont see old men holding SYT’s hands around. when a man is discoering himself, perhaps then he wants an older woman… but when he is done discovering, things will change.

Older women (if they take care of themselves) are more appealing in lots of ways. They are easier to talk to and more approachable and more understanding because they have experienced some of life’s hard times and understand the ways of life

Savvy, I agree. The years not only add on as a number to the age, but it’s the life experience that counts to make a better person.

i guess it all depends on the guy – what his preferences are….some like more mature kinda girls, hence they are attracted to the slightly older ones. but most guys still go for younger ones perhaps bcoz they wanna be the one that is more mature?

Sometimes it’s not easy when it comes to the perception of who’s the more mature party. Girls tend to think guys are not as matured as girls their own age, and vice versa. Your views are rather true, people do prefer more matured partners in general.

I want a woman at church who’s 8-9 years older than me. She’s very nice and very beautiful. I think she wrote me off because I’m young and still in college but I’m almost done though. If she’s still single and I’m still single by the time I get a career, I’m going for it. I’m more mature than some guys her age. I’ve had a crush on her for two years and she still looks beautiful even though I met her 5 years ago. I’ve got a semi muscular build. Toned stomach but it’s not a six pack. How do I get her to notice me. How do I get her to notice me and take me more seriously?

if she didn’t want you,you cannot have her
if a Guy or a Girl doesn’t want something or someone,its over. she/he can’t change desicions bec after that desicion,comes a real bad life.

To younger guy, I think being an older girl we may not be aware that a younger guy is interested in and may also think they may see us more as a fling and we may want a more serious relationship and so I think if you want her you may need to make it clear that you are interested and not just on a superficial level but would really like a chance with her and that the age doesn’t bother you and you don’t plan on trading her in for a newer model down the road cause that may be one of her fears. You never know she may be attracted to you as well but think it would never work so if you let her know how you feel and that you will be the man she needs. I see no reason why she wouldn’t like you.

I’m 15 and a female buuuut, i really do think there is “something” beautiful about an older woman. Like, i dunno why but for some reason i think older women (with laugh lines) that dress nicely are classy looking
And when u get older, u get a more “sculpted” look thats really attractvie.
