The auction for her virginity has gone as high as 2.5 million pounds. And yet, she is still not selling her virginity, waiting to fetch more. I don’t blame her, when the stakes can only be going up and not down. Why wouldn’t any woman wait to sell what’s considered highly sought after when she feels that she can be worth a lot more, right?

At the end of the day, will the ultimate winner of the auction be the hero? Or will he be the laughing stock of the public for paying millions in this time of a financial crisis just to be able to have sex with a virgin? On her end, does she feel every bit the victor for making herself an instant millionaire? How about her family, are they proud of their millionaire daughter?

What then about girls who use tampons? Will using tampons tear a girl’s hymen? It is said that 99.99% of the time, using a tampon will not tear hymens. Unless it is not correctly used and during the process of insertion, some force was used, then yes it might just happen but note that this is very rare.

You may wonder why the use of tampons will not cause a tear in hymens. This is because the hymen is a flexible membrane that can accommodate the flow of your menstruation as well as the use of a tampon. I found a good explanation of this and it’s quoted below:

A hymen is a thin membrane which effectively makes your vaginal opening smaller, but it still has a large hole in the middle. This lets out any fluid from inside as the uterus clears itself out each month (ie your period) and it is sufficiently large to allow a tampon in without tearing it.

In this day and age though, I don’t think many people are concerned about this issue anymore. Before, many were concerned with the fact that a torn hymen means a loss of virginity. However, this whole fixation about being a virgin is very much related to whether a girl has had sexual intercourse and by technical terms if a girl had her hymen torn not by the act of sexual intercourse, then she is still a virgin.

A friend of mine was in such a relationship with her boyfriend and often cried herself to sleep. When things got very bad and she needed to talk it out instead of suffering in silence, she would pick up the phone and talk and sob through tears with some close friends. Her family knew nothing of this because she did not want to worry them and see him in a bad light.

After numerous calls, I finally decided to ask her if she ever thought of leaving him and finding someone better who would treat her with respect. She hesitated for just about 3 seconds before saying that she will not end the relationship. I probed further and she revealed to me that she was afraid no one else out there would want her. I told her she’s being silly. After all, she’s an attractive woman who’s got a good heart, beautiful and a bubbly personality. What’s there not to like about a girl like that?

With a sigh, she explained to me is that she was afraid that other men would not want her and look lowly upon her because she is no longer a virgin. I was taken aback with her answer.

Do women these days still feel this way about how they are viewed by men? Does a man really give less points to a woman who has engaged in pre-marital sex? Whether it is morally and religiously right or wrong, that’s another topic altogether. The fact is, it is common these days that couples engage in pre-marital sex and that people tend to go through a few relationships before finding the one they exchange marital vows with. So it would be quite rare (not impossible, just rare) in our society today to find a virgin unless it is a first time relationship.
