Do guys actually want the honour to cut the umbilical cord?
It’s rather common these days that the guys will be with their wives in the delivery room, witnessing the birth of their baby. It’s also common these days that the doctors will hand the fathers the scissors for him to do the honour of cutting the umbilical cord.
Do the guys really want to do this though? I know that many are quite nervous about this because they fear cutting the wrong part. Some may not do too well looking at something bloody too. Not to mention some mothers may also be quite nervous about this too.
My doctor was someone very practical whose objective was to perform a safe delivery and to ensure that mother and child are fine. He did not offer the new daddy a chance to cut the umbilical cord. Instead of feeling disappointed that he didn’t do the honours, the daddy actually felt relieved because he actually didn’t want to do it.
How about other guys out there? Are you for it? Are there fathers who do it only because the doctor handed you the scissors and you don’t really want to say no?

Hahaha, it all depends if the guy will faint or not

i did not cut the umbilical cord on both my babies’ birth. I don’t see a need to do that. I was in the delivery room both time for my wife’s c-sect and i guess i would rahter leave those things that requires “tools” to the doctors/medical practioners.
All i did was hold my wife’s hand and once the baby was out, follow the nurse to the table nearby so that the doctor could suck the access liquid out…and out course, count if there is any missing fingers or toes!
To answer your question – there is no need to perform something that cliche!

KY, I’ve heard of some fathers fainting…no joke huh? Haha.
Stupe, goof for you for now bowing to the pressure and cliche! I’m sure there are other more important moments than cutting the cord.
