Be alert on a drug called Burundanga
Here’s a story to share. Don’t take little things for granted. It could cost you dearly.
A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female putting gas in her car and left his card. She said no, but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the car.The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman. As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the gas station.
She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes before she could finally catch her breath. Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.
This drug is called ‘BURUNDANGA‘ and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them.
This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards. So take heed and make sure you don’t accept cards at any given time alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services.

It’s a hoax for the reported case in email. But the drug is indeed dangerous.

Hi Rose, yeah apparently that’s what some readers have said too. In any case, just be aware and alert of this drug. It could potentially happen.

definitely a hoax. there is one circulting around Canada – names and places conveniently changed but otherwise identical in wording. Why do they always target women in these scares?

Women are always victims to many crimes and scams…but I wonder what the intention of this scam is.

I received this as a warning from a friend this morning and I checked it out straight away – it had all the hallmarks of a hoax – the sensational headlines, addressing it to LADIES etc etc – and it is. The drug does it exist, but the woman could not have detected its odour on her hands – it’s odourless. And you wouldn’t be affected by it on a card. The purpose is like all hoaxes – to make innocent/gullible people look silly. Normal people don’t get a kick out of this sort of thing, but hoax senders are saddoes who haven’t got anything else in their lives. Feel sorry for them.

Jessie, thanks for sharing. It’s even more dangerous if this drug is odourless. It can’t be detected! In any case, hoax or no hoax, we should be on the lookout these days as criminals are getting more creative these days.

That’s very true. No place is truly safe and no one can be fully trusted no matter how decent they may look.
